Donations to Support Underprivileged Children in a School in Africa, Guinea Bissau
During
my recent journey to Guinea Bissau, I encountered approximately 58 children,
aged between 4 and 11, attending classes under deplorable conditions. Their
classroom, constructed from straw, offers scant protection from the elements,
allowing rain, wind, and dust to disrupt their learning environment. Determined
to make a difference with the limited resources at my disposal, I've
committed to using my retirement funds to help construct a more suitable school
for these children.
However,
I've encountered financial obstacles in realizing this vision. Thus, I
appeal to the compassion and generosity of those who understand the importance
of education for our youth. Together, we can raise the necessary funds to build
a proper educational facility. With the assistance of some friends,
we've already drafted plans for a school comprising three classrooms,
restroom facilities, and a septic system. We've even manufactured 2500
bricks for the construction of the walls and obtained iron rods for the
structural pillars.
Yet,
additional financial support is crucial to procure roofing materials, doors,
windows, paint, and other essentials. Every contribution, no matter how modest,
brings us closer to our goal.
These children undertake a daily journey of 10 to 15
kilometers to attend school, often on empty stomachs, and face numerous risks
along the way.
Their thirst for knowledge is undeniable, yet the Guinean
government, entrusted with their education, shows little interest. Their
parents, already burdened by poverty, lack the means to provide better
alternatives.
Moved by their plight, I've taken it upon myself
to spearhead this initiative. I firmly believe that every euro invested in this
project will have a profound and lasting impact on the lives of these children
and others like them. Your donations will be utilized responsibly, and I am
committed to providing regular updates on our progress.
